Heroes with Heart

TIP’s ‘Heroes with Heart’ awards dinner is an annual event recognizing law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency responders who have been identified by TIP volunteers as being especially kind and compassionate to victims of tragedy. TIP Volunteers are uniquely positioned to see first responders in action, as they respond side-by-side to emergency scenes in our community 24-hours/day, 365 days/year. At this special event, featured speakers are TIP clients courageously sharing their stories and community leaders.

The keynote speakers at TIP’s 1st Heroes with Heart event were the Elvin family who suffered so much with the Reno Air Races tragedy. In 2017, Mayor Hilary Schieve shared her family’s personal story with TIP services. Attendees always include the Chiefs of NNV first responder groups, local & state political leaders, small business owners, and citizens touched by TIP’s work. The event raises awareness of survivor services in our community, strengthens TIP’s bonds with community partners, honors TIP Volunteers, and raises funds.
